Royal Mint and Royal Mint Experience

External Signage, Internal Signage, Public Sector, Wayfinding and POS

The Challenge

The Royal Mint recently introduced a new brand, and wanted to bring it to life at their tourist attraction The Royal Mint Experience. They asked us to help them create an environment that is welcoming and engaging for their customers and employees.

The Method

We were asked to help strategise how to visually communicate the rebrand and to create a meaningful customer experience on site. We started by mapping out the entire process from the point of view of the customer and were able to envisage the wants and needs of those who will actually be enjoying the site.

Our main goal was to create an experience that is memorable and wholesome to both employees and customers. We printed, manufactured and installed signage to support the new brands for both The Royal Mint and The Royal Mint Experience. Involved in every aspect of the project, at points we also supported the graphic design which is now on display around the site.

We manufactured engaging signage featuring some familiar friends (Winnie the Pooh!); recognising The Royal Mint Experience’s demographic who would be receptive to characters.

Our aim was to create a journey from the moment customers arrive. We installed “wayfinding” signage, building a journey for visitors from the car parks on to the main buildings.

The Results

The new assets have dramatically enhanced the experience and aesthetic of the site, engaging people in The Royal Mint’s 1,100 year history from the moment they arrive.

“The process of preparing a stadium for an ICC global event and then returning it to fit the needs of our own commercial partners is a complex operation. However, the team at Dragon Signs have been excellent in managing this process and the stadium looks fantastic with a capacity crowd in attendance for the Ashes and followed by a television audience around the world.

We’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with the team at Dragon Signs since the early days of the partnership and we look forward to continuing this long-term relationship.”

“We’ve worked with the team at Dragon for many years and we continue to do so because their service, turn-around times and quality products are second to none – it’s just an added bonus they are such a great organisation to work with!”

“We are proud to call Dragon Signs one of our Associated Partners. The team are a pleasure to work with and the finished products are always exceptional. Dragon supply our grounds with signs inside and outside of the stadium, and the team were outstanding in supporting the Club during a major stadium re-brand that took place in both the COVID-19 pandemic, and a very short timeframe. Also, due to the COVID-19 pandemic the team provide us with branded infection control protective equipment.”

“Dragon Signs supply vehicle signs for our growing fleet of vans as well as provide us with internal and external signs for our offices across South Wales. Their workmanship and attention to detail is reflected across all our branding and I wouldn’t’ hesitate to recommend them.”

“We were looking for a partner to help us get people playing tennis. We have hundreds of tennis courts, superb volunteers, amazing coaches and facilities all across Wales. We’ve seen what Dragon Signs have done elsewhere and immediately knew they’d be great at working with us to help promote and market tennis in an innovative way to get people playing across Wales. Together we’re planning to modernise the way tennis looks to the local community and get people on court with their friends and family.”

Simon Johnson, Chief Executive of Tennis Wales
